Villa Melnik Winery is a family business, a continuation of viticulture and winemaking traditions with more than two centuries of documented history.

Enjoy a wine tour of the Villa Melnik Winery, followed by a tasting of 5 wines from unique local varieties, led by smiling wine guides.

The tour begins among the vineyards of the winery where they grow the Shiroka Melnishka (or Broadleafed Melnik) vine in two different formations - in a cordon and as a cup-shaped bush close to the ground. The tour goes through all stages of the production process from receiving the grapes through the fermentation vessels, bottling and aging in the underground tunnels-cellars, dug deep into the sandstone hill.

During the talk you will learn more about the family history of Villa Melnik, the peculiarities of the Melnik terroir and the unique local varieties.
During the tasting you will get acquainted with the “family tree of Melnik” – this is the ancient endemic variety Shiroka Melnishka Loza and its modern crosses – rare local varieties that grow only in this region. You will learn interesting facts about the creation and characteristics of these rare varieties.

You will taste 5 selected wines from several of the varieties of Melnik – white, rosé and red; fresh without oak and aged in oak barrels. The guide will lead you through the steps of the tasting and will take you through the aromas and tastes of the wine with the help of an aroma wheel.
Grissini, nuts and seasonal fresh or dried fruits from their own gardens accompany the wines during the tasting.


The tasting is for two people and includes:

• A walk through the vineyards – getting to know traditional local varieties;
• A tour of the winery and monitoring the vinification processes.
• Tasting of 5 wines from the Melnika family in different styles - white, rosé and red; fresh without oak and aged in oak barrels.
• Snacks, nuts and seasonal fresh or dried fruits
