Wine cellar Maryan is established in 2010 by the family of Svetla and Iliya Ivanovi and their sons Peter and Vladimir with the idea to create limited series of wines in the skirts of Stara Planina Mountain, Maryan village, region of Elena.
Named after the village of Maryan where the wine is made with heaps of devotion, the cellar also makes the most of the extraordinary story of the village which tells the legend of the beautiful Kera Tamara – daughter of Tsar Ivan Alexander and sister of Tzar Ivan Shishman, the last Bulgarian ruler.
The wines Kera Tamara, Queen Elena and Ivan Alexander carry the memory of our great ancestors and the charge of their successors.
The winery is open for visits. It offers walking tours around the manufacturing facilities and outdoor or indoor tasting sessions along with traditional regional culinary dishes, freshly baked bread, dairy products and delicatessen from local farmers.
