Tipchenitza wine cellar is an excellent example of sustainable agriculture and wine tourism with respect to environmental protection and development of the region in which they decided to grow organic vineyards and make a wine cellar.
Immerse yourself in the world of "Zero Waste Wines" concept in the beautiful mountain region of Vratsa in the village of Tipchenitsa located just 54 km from Sofia and 30 km from Vratsa. Get to know the different faces of two local varieties native to North-West Bulgaria: Vrachanski Misket and Rubin.
Their vineyards are located in the locally at the remarkable altitude of 500 m and is where they grow Vrachanski Misket, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Rubin, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The grapes are used to produce wines in three series two of which are included in their tasting.
The newly built tasting room is beautiful, cozy and can accommodate up to 20 people. The wines of the Tochka series can be tasted on the spot from kegs under inert gas and purchase in reusable bottles. For those who live in the capital city of Sofia this is a wonderful opportunity as Tipchenitza Wine Cellar has a company store in Sofia where they can find Tipchenitza’s wines in kegs and can continue to fill their Zero Waste bottles with different varieties and styles of wine. They are, of course, available in standard glass bottles as well.
During the visit you will be shown around the wine cellar by the chief technologist Nadya Mineva who will introduce you to the "wine path" - from grape to bottle. You will get to know the secrets of organic farming, the responsible attitude towards nature through the use of "Zero Waste" bottles, as well as lighter bottles, the social responsibility towards the local community and the love they put into making wine. In the tasting room you will taste 5 wines from local varieties whose taste-aromatic characteristics and production concept will be presented to you by the wine specialist. In addition you will get to choose two bottles from them which you will get to take home and enjoy.
