The history of Zlaten Rozhen wine cellar began in 2009 with the purchase of several small vineyards. The owners Theodor and Marusya share with friends the first wines received from them. They quickly fall in love with the taste of local wine and the beauty of the Struma Valley.
They opened a small boutique hotel in the village of Rozhen, bought more vineyards, and soon began the construction of a modern wine cellar. In 2014 the first wines were bottled in their own base in the village of Kapatovo, and in 2018 a tasting room has been opened, which welcomes wine lovers all year round.
With slow, but well-thought-out and consistent steps, as in making good wine, the Osikovski family reaches the point where today they can boast of a modern production base, well-groomed vineyards, a trusted team, and aspirations that exceed personal success. The wines made in Zlaten Rozhen, with respect for the land, knowledge of the local terroir, and in search for its unique handwriting, aim to present Bulgaria and the Struma Valley in the best way.
Here you can try wines from the local varieties Sandanski Misket and Broad-leaved Melnik (Shiroka Melnishka Loza), as well as from famous international varieties that have found ideal conditions in the Struma Valley.
Here you will be surprised with white wine from Broad-leaved Melnik (Shiroka Melnishka Loza) from the Family reserve series.
Zlaten Rozhen is also the first winery in the region to revive the Sandanski Misket variety in 2012. Be sure to try it and learn interesting facts about it.
The cellar has a small boutique hotel in the village of Rozhen (about 15 minutes by car from the winery).
