This tour combines two faces of Thrace in one day – royal history and park splendor at the Krichim Palace, and characterful wine from a boutique winery among the vineyards at the foot of the Rhodopes. The offer is for two people, with the possibility of organizing up to a maximum of 7 people.
What to expect
Northeast of the village of Kurtovo Konare, near the Vacha River, Krichim Palace was created as a suburban hunting residence on a former sultan's estate – a remnant of the historic "Great Bulgarian Forest." The first building was the "Austrian House" hunting lodge (1905) for Prince Ferdinand, and later the complex was completed under Tsar Boris III (1936).
During the visit, you will stroll through the park, which impresses with over 300 species of trees, beautiful alleys, and one of its most romantic spots – the lake with water lilies, where boats used to sail during the royal era, and even today you can see a boat under the bridge.
The tour also includes the greenhouses, beloved by anyone who loves rare plants. The area is inhabited by a variety of game and birds (fallow deer, mouflon, pheasant, etc.), and there is also a hunting lodge on the grounds, which is part of the complex.
Wine – wine tour and tasting of 5 wines
After the royal walk, we continue to a boutique winery located among the vineyards of the Rhodope Mountains. There you will enjoy a wine tour of the cellar with a presentation of the technological stages, followed by a tasting of 5 wines.
