Wine cellar Kolarovo is established in 2009 in the village of the same name which also gives its name to the famous Kolarovski vineyard massif where in the 1970s a several thousand acres of merlot were planted. More than 13 years now since its beginning the wines are created by the technologist Iliana Koeva who, with her many years of experience in the country and abroad, creates the overall image of the cellar. In 2021 she became the proud owner of Chateau Kolarovo, changed the name to Wine Cellar Kolarovo and decided to modernize it. Keeping her wine signature and knowing the potential of the grapes in the region Iliana created the new face of the winery with more modern visions, fruitier and fresher wines and the first series is going to be Metamorphosis. For now the winery doesn’t have its own vineyards but the trust that she’s built with the local vine-grower allows her to annually choose quality grapes from the varieties Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdo.
The small boutique wine cellar with a capacity of 100 000 bottles annually welcomes tourists yearly. The owner and technologist personally takes the tourists on a tour of the production facilities and introduces tourists to her wines.
