Located in the picturesque village of Momin Sbor, near Veliko Tarnovo, Stivi Estate is a young winery that combines the love of wine with the respect for tradition. It opened its doors in 2022 as the owners' dream of 30 years finally came true, and later the tasting room opened in 2023. Grapes for their wines are sourced from all over Bulgaria - the reds are from the Thracian lowlands and Sakar, and the whites from the Black Sea region. In 2024, they started working on their own vineyards, and the Vermentino variety was the first chosen to be grown there.
The wine tasting of 5 wines, combined with meat delicacies of their own production, selected cheeses and yellow cheeses, as well as mineral water, is preceded by a tour of the winery's cellar with a talk about wine production - from fermentation to bottling.
Some of the cellar's wines are aged in qvevri - traditional Georgian clay vessels, which give the wine a unique character, complexity and authenticity.
A visit to Stivi Estate is a great addition to a walk through the old capital Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, and can also be included in a long wine weekend in the region.
