Rupel winery (the gracious host of the experience) was established in 2005 and grows the varieties Melnik 55, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marcelan, Sangiovese, Nebiolo, Tamyanka, Melnik Rubin and Pinot Noir, Sandanski Misket, Vermentino and Viognier. It is among these vineyards where a beautiful château is situated. It provides wonderful opportunities for wine tastings, lunches and dinners, outdoor events, wine picnics and other experiences such as small workshops and team building.
This is where the cycling adventure begins - a tour from Rupel winery (Dolno Spanchevo) to Orbelus winery (Kromidovo) on foot or by bike on an old agricultural road among nature with the opportunity to observe birds, wildlife, plant species and view over 50 years old vineyards and unique views of Pirin. There isn’t a guide for this as there are clear markings curtesy of winery Rupel. There’s a light meal provided consisting of 4 picnic sandwiches and 2 bottles of water which you can take with you on the hike. Duration of going there and return to winery Orbelus – 2 hours.
If you wish you can also visit winery Orbelus with a tasting of organic wines from its portfolio. The wine cellar impresses with its architecture resembling a large barrel for aging wine. The young winemaking team greets the tourists with a smile and personally hosts the tasting of the wines made by them. Call us to arrange a visit and if you wish you can pay on the spot.
